Humboldt County's Timber Industry businesses and professionals have come together to fund a one-day workshop for High School Juniors and Seniors to learn more about the opportunities for employment in these professions. This event is designed to showcase the Timber Industry and the Agricultural Industry to students who are considering a career path in these areas.
The Humboldt County Farm Bureau, Redwood Region Logging Conference and North Coast Agriculture Partners joined forces to produce the Redwood Region Resource Rally. The day-long event includes five- 45 minute stops to learn about Mechanics, Fisheries, Forestry, Timber Fallers, Educational Opportunities presentation and a tour of the Scotia Mill.
The Ag Production Tour stopped at three different locations including an organic dairy and pasture-laying hen operation, beef operation, tour of Humboldt Auction Yard, and a tour and hands-on presentation of a family run organic food production farm.
